SCREAMS for a 3d skybox. Or at least extra cliff detail above the rock ridge. Also try using the grass textures (the ones that pop up 2d grass).

And yes, can probably host it when everythings fixed.

i was thinking of adding one, but itd prolly be made of displacements, which would crank the filesize up more. its already like 8 meg so i dunno. depends what you want in the skybox.

anyway:

low fps is due to my computer being a pile of shit in a metal box.

the displacement work is good, but i think you need some extra detail to make it an AAA map (i'm a detail freak) :D
add some more foliage, more variety in color (brown has many shades) and stuff. i didn't see a sun anywhere, so if you don't have one, you ought to get one in the map imo!
maybe add some deseted view in a 3D skybox or using large models? you can easily make a large power plant that is occasionally seen from places in the map.
all in all it looks really good chap, displacements are excellent :D

try nem's terrain generator for source, that is an extremely useful tool for 3d skyboxes

i did have ~835 prop_details in there as little bushes, but the framerate was shit so i deleted about half of them and it still looks fine. the framerate still isnt very good i have optimised it with hints, and it is working alot better, but average fps is prolly 40 or so.

oh theres a sun alright. a big bastard. ill get one of it if i make another set of screens.

considering you probably wouldnt be ablwe to get high enough (what with the playerclip brush i put in) to see over the walls into the skybox, it prolly wouldnt be that much point. im checking out that nems terrain generator now tho.
