Lo guys,
just finished a quick aim_map as my first source map. Took bout 6 hours, 3 of which were compiling over and over again lol. Thanks to Signy the legend for his help with water. Download it here:

http://urban-fxbeta.port5.com/

It's a safe site dont worry it's mine, i just havn't actually finished making the site to go round it yet lol, so its just an ftp archive :)

P.S
Sorry there are no screenshots, if anyone takes any good action screenshots and a good graphical level then post them or send them to me please, and i will post any i get :D

Always helps to have screenshots first Bagzy, most users won't go to the effort of downloading a map and running it without an idea of it's looks.

And nice poll option :P

it's good, but there are a few texture problems.

1) the glass textures need to be aligned properly....the edge is right in the middle of the glass...

2) i don't know if it's just me, but there are a few walls that are checkered (pink/black) 2 little spots are buy the bars in the water, if you crouch down and look at the brick at the bottom. another is down that little hallway with the suares in the ceiling that let the light through, if you look up one of them, you can see the checkered texture. i'm not sure if you put these to nodraw textures or something, but they don't look good, :)

other than those few problems, i like it, fun little map, :)

well the overall design is nice.

But i say that the map needs to be a little more bright. Add some more light in it.

I don't know about others but i did feel that the map a little laggy. I think that is due to the presence of water in the middle. Sure the water looks cool but you know that in a aim map fast game is the main point. You might try to lower it's quantity.

All in all it is a good one but a little more light and more optimization will make it stand out. Keep up the good work 8)

thnx for your replies guys. Yer it is only V1 so i will probably fix any errors. As for it being a little bit laggy i had 12 people on it last night and everyone said fps was over 100 so i am afraid that is more likey to be you :( However i do agree that it is a bit dark, and sadly these screenshots make it look ever darker  -:

P.S BEFORE YOU START POINTING OUT MY FPS IS AROUND 50, I HAD EVERYTHING ON THE HIGHEST IT COULD GO SO SHHHH

I think its pritty good layout, and some weapons are in a good spot.
But again I have to say the FPS is really low. I dont want to have to lower my settings just for 1 map when they work fine in other maps. and that water reflecting the enemy and everything else over that side will kill my FPS badly. maybe you can make it "cheap" water instead?

I did see a purple and black texture too when i was in the spawn area, you could look up in the gaps and see some broken textures there.

Also I dont know if its me but I got this while loading.
"ERROR!: Can't create physics object for models/props/pi_fern.mdl"

and i second the glass :) maybe make it "to fit"?

Well what else are people supposed to hide behind? Its not like they could hide behind a refridgerator, dumpster, small pile of garbage, tv, file cabinet, car, plane, tire, or any other object big enough to hind behind..
EDIT: or oil drum

ok:
#1 Spartan 34 rofl, my map has nearly nothing in common with your map other than a floor and a skybox

#2 There are bumps on the floor and it is all terrain if u look carefully, but terrain is not easy with the gommo terrain system they came up with. They really should have used something similar to Unreal Editors
