Superb quality and i want to play on that map plus droll on the brushwork and the models!! Even thought i don't have DOD:S :-D (and this tells me that my skills are too far behind big time :? )

Hey guys, sorry to bump a REALLY old thread like this but im writing a part of my dissertation on notable achievements in source engine mapping and i wrote a short piece on the light map/diffuse detail map hack that was used by warby and hessi in this map. You can check it out here http://www.mediafire.com/?mr2fxaxugimxo4k it explains in some detail the processes and methods used to make the super lush textures on the big models in this beautiful level. I was using func_details way before it was cool.
