Hey guys, I'm back again with another finished TF2 map. (I'm the guy who made egypt, junction, and harvest)

Cp_Tidal is set in a facility on the bayside. It's set at night time and I tried to create a cool view of a suspension bridge across the bay. I chose to keep each side similar in architecture so the whole map would fit together and feel like one cohesive modern facility.

It's a 5 cp linear push map with battles across rooftops and in alleys. There's a lot of ledges to look down and defend/attack from.

I've been working on it off and on since January 2010. For this map I spent a lot longer balancing gameplay and trying to make the areas fun than my I did for previous works. This time I let the maps design evolve more out of the playtests rather than just my head, so I think it plays a lot better than my older maps. It's balanced for 24 players.

Version 2 Update:

Basically, for version 2 I took a lot of the criticism I got about the first version's detailing and changed it. In the first version it seemed to have too much of the same details throughout. I tried to vary it a bit more because it was too bland looking before. For example, I changed many of those false doors to different details because there was too many of them. I also added some little signs for Tidal Power Inc to add a bit of back story.

Version 3 Update:

For version 3 I tried to reduce the overall bland look of the colors of the map. People felt like it had too much sameness in the textures used throughout.

I made interiors way warmer in light than exteriors to make it look more exciting lighting-wise. I made some buildings have different textures than the rest to add some variety. I added a new metal wall texture which I used on some buildings. I also changed the shape of some of the roofs. They seemed to be too boring and boxy shaped before.

I'm pretty happy with how it is now, atleast visually.

Very clean and sleek work.
Love the 3D skybox and the certain TFC feeling this map gives.

Looks awesome! Is the bridge in the back the Golden Gate Bridge?

Nice change of aesthetic, but the lighting feels very monotone to me at the moment. Some slight variation would be nice, but don't go overboard and make it too dark... (I've done that once or twice!)

I love it, it sticks out different from other tf2 maps and that rocks! The only gripe I have is with the second screenshot down with that wooden platform leading up to the window, it looks completely out of place. You should extent the catwalk around there and put stairs. Besides that I'd have to run through it, but really loven the skybox! :smt114

Finally had time to work on the map again and I just finished version 2 of it. I tried to make it a bit less bland looking detail wise. Read the first post for full details and new pictures.

Just updated the map to Version 3. I think I pretty much fixed the boringness and lack of texture variation it had before. Check the first post for new screens.
