what i have to say is: not every map is made of a solid cube, try to be more creative, perhaps have an awning or two, pillars would be nice, do something with the buildings and do it fast

looks nice, but its all a little square - mayb some curved areas or buildings that have had holes blasted in them.

the white building in the top right screen is enterable, should have posted screens inside - 2 floors and a stair well going up 3 levels, from ground, first, rooftop and then up again to the extra storey.

as for the block buildings, thats the skybox ones your seeing which i didnt spend too long on - there is one big BIg building (with the huge curved window) , the other building is too dark i suppose in the screens, which has curved entrance and such like - there is more to it than just blocks :) hopefully the map will be hosted somewhere and youll see what i mean

anyway, all crit is welcome so thank you

Add some ambient lighting to the light_environment. The shadowed areas behind the buildings are too dark for my liking. :P

yeh i know what you mean, this was a problem tho. Originally it was a bright blue sky, and i had used a nice blueish tint for ambient light and it looked very realistic. the problem was that all the shadows seemed to be an ever lighter blue, and to get the shadows of objects and players right i had to drop the ambience considerably and make it a grey - any thoughts?

nice map, I think it would suite a 6 player max, but i think its too small for many more than that.
I too think the lighting is too dark, especially in the building.
one last thing i noticed, there is a fence near the rocket launcher that you cant get to that way, but when you go up and get that energy ball gun thing(official name, honest ;) ) you can jump down behind it and get stuck.

yup there is a couple of places you can get out in the above posted map, ive updated it since (and thanks to cr4ig for the advice!)

im gonna make a few more changes (the light for one!) and make sure there is no more bits to get stuck or fall out the map.

question: do you think it would be suitable for more than 6 if the big building with the curved window had 3 floors in it? I didnt tackle that yet because it would be quite a big job, but im tempted to open that up. I like the close quarters feel of it, and im reluctant to extend the street or add another block of buildings behind either side, so dyou think having another building that was enterable and had lots to do in would help?
