This map is almost 100% custom content created by myself. The map, models, textures, materials, etc all were created by me. It is for the GamaBanana/CEVO mapping contest.

More Screens are on the Workshop page :)

I would recommend 8v8 for this map. It does support up to 64 players so if thats something your into you can do it. 5v5 plays well too.

The map takes place in an upscale estate, that overlooks nature, canyons, and lush forests.

There's a lot of nice maps coming out for CS:GO recently, and this looks like another one of those.

Really nice work from what I can see in the screens.

Something seems off in the cliff rocks for the lighting but other then that it looks pretty good.

I'm glad you recognized it was intentional AO I painted on. I like the deep look it gives the rocks and spaces in between. I was trying to go for the AO style Farcry 3 uses, deep black. I like it :)

I think the AO gives the rocks a painterly look. Also most of the exterior textures are very plain, whereas the models have a lot of detail (polygons) to them, which makes up for the simple textures. It's a different kind of approach and I think it looks nice. Good work.

Woah this looks nice, I just hope it plays well. I can always appreciate how much work it really takes to put in all this custom content. Detail sprites and rocks are quite pretty.

Edit: Grass models were pretty cool instead of using detail sprites, except in some places the grass is floating off the displacement. The lighting indoors seemed a bit plain and kinda dark for regular CS gameplay, and could use some extra lights + light models. Cool idea for a map though, very unique looking.

I like the gameplay, but for me the overly shiny textures and "bubbly" brickwork/pillars/rocks just make it look like it's running on Quake 3 tech.
Mappers Top Tip #548
Lighting: The arrangement, hue and intensity of one or multiple light sources.
Lightning: A dazzling discharge of electric sparks in the atmosphere, often preceding thunder.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted the building area to have a clean look compared to the nature side. Sometimes I feel mappers (including myself in the past) get too caught up on destruction, gritty, old textures. I wanted it to be detailed, but still clean. Also I was trying to save space for the map size and multiple models share the same UV space/material, so some concessions were made.

I'm sort of torn with the aesthetics of this. I really appreciate the commitment to entirely custom content, but it seems a little conflicting.

The foliage looks fantastic, there's a real sense of density and volume to the canopy of trees, coupled with the grass models that compliment it. But, the contrast of the rocks, with it's exaggerated AO doesn't sit well with the rest of the organic environment. That's how I personally feel.

Also a lot of the building details, bricks, trims - again kudos for modelling all that out - has too much depth in the cavities, making it lean almost into a weird parallax mapping aesthetic. Gives it the side effect of a 'Lego' vibe.

It would of been nice to of seen some more colorful environmental lighting to set the scene, but I'm being nitpicky.

I'm glad to see so many CSGO maps with real effort put into them appearing on the workshop, yours included :)

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted the bricks to POP out, and if I put them too close I was afraid it would be mistaken for a texture and not bricks actually modeled out. I might tone down the AO on the rocks in a Workshop update, but I kind of like the depth it gives the rocks.

Appreciate the honesty and Ill keep them in mind when I update the map or on my next map.

I...don't even know where to begin.

When I was still mapping and stuff, there was a map I always wanted to create that had a very similar look to it; with the dark rocks and the green grass and stuff. It's incredibly awesome to see someone else who actually has the talent and skills actually make something similar to what I had pictured in my head. This map looks fantastic in my opinion and you should be proud. I love to just stare at it. In fact, I might load it up in CS GO and take some screens to use as my desktop background.

Thats some high bloody praise nub, but I agree it is a really nice looking map. Wish I had the skill to make custom assets like that.
