de_ and fy_stockade

Hey everyone :)

I've been working on this map for about a month (couldn't have done it without Interlopers  ) It's my first map, and I don't think it's too bad for my first one...but yeah anyways. I have to versions de and fy. It takes place in a castle, it has a large basement, great for stealth and an upper, open floor good for normal gunfights and sniping. I like it.

You can find information, screenies, and the link to download here-

Well on the textures..I went through hundreds (for the walls) and they were all mega-repetitive..and that was the best one. I would appreciate if anyone could find a better textures for some of the things...

For the light...oh boy this took me about 2 weeks to figure out...I'll tell you precisely what I did.

1. I put a light spot on the floor beneath each hole.
2. Between the ceiling and the floor I put a "light" entity
3. (this is the major noticable one) I put an prop_physics model called "vol_light" It can be found in the "effects" folder (under the models folder)

nice effort

it is a nice big map. I have tried the fy version fo your map.

The textures does get quite repetitive & are also quite misaligned. I say instead of making the outer walls too high you might add a sky box for the outside enviroment, it will make it look more better.

However i was unable to get the water effect, i placed the files in the materials folder but i think it can be a error on my side also. You check that plz.

Anyway good effort :o

they do come with hl2, but they dont have the subtle glow, which was what i was looking for, dust motes go with the lightbeam in my map, looks rather lovely so far
