At first I meant it as a joke, but now that I think about it - is that possible? If I make it in Hammer?

I'm serious.

thats why that lighting seemed different than what model programs compile lol.

bah, if your going to make it in hammer, we all might aswell make it in hammer, im a lot better and faster in hammer... this is for boosting your modelling skills, not your mapping skills >.<

looks nice nonetheless.

Hi,

I just noticed this new speed challenge and was wondering if there is still time to make an entry.

Thanks.

you should have about 1 hr 45 mins left to make something and submit it, so you'll be at a slight disadvantage to the others, but that might be enough time for you, I don't know.

yea you got like less than 2 hours left till the thread ends.

i looked at your link about the clay render Barra, but the poster hadn't written anything for XSI yet, so i followed Happy's tutorial (thank you).

after 1 hour of swearing i finally got it working semi-acceptable so here goes:

I hope we do guns or something next. Or furniture. Inventor would own at furniture.

Links! Sorry, no idea how to get Tris or anything like that in Inventor, but heres my final entries.

Got a model done just in time. Im quite new to Max, and I need to start learning it now. As im using a game engine on my course which has no brush based system. All levels need to be created in Max, so its quite annoying. These challenges will hopefully help me improve though, also thanks for the link to the clay rendering tutorial.

Overall it took about an hour and a half and was 1062 Tris.

EDIT: Also, I seen this image of an axe from the conan movie, so I used this as a reference image when creating the Axe in 3DS Max.

The big advantage is that you learn how to model and map simultaneously though.

Hey, they're all looking pretty good :x.

I've been using max for about a year and a half now, so I can't wait for that next speed challenge!
