Speed Challenge #4 - Toys

Postby BaRRaKID on Sat Mar 08, 2008 4:29 pm

Here is SMC #4, as usual don't forget to always add:

- A render
- A wireframe
- Tri count
- Time spent creating the model

For this challenge you will have to create toys. You have 120minutes (2 full hours) to create the model. The model cannot be skinned, but you can post a skinned version as an wip.
Don't forget that the 2hours are just to be used as a reference. It's ok if you take more than that to create the model.

We recommend that you post your final picture using a clay render, click here to learn how to do it.

The rules can be found here
Here are some links with reference images:

The challenge will end tomorrow at around 5pm GMT, go here to see how much time you've left.

Good Luck everyone :)

Maybe to us interlopers it's considered a toy. But to every other normal person it's just a keyboard :P

lol, you could have always PMed it to barra if this topic was closed, infact this topic should have been closed about when Alminie posted his entry lol. Barra overslept perhaps :P
and u colored and putted hair on your render? looks nice, but you should have gone for clayrender as beauty renders aren't going to be used in the final voting :P
also, its gonna be hard to get into or out of those handcuffs O.o

edit: you forgot to put your tri count in it cardboard ^^

Oh, i thought colors were ok as opposed to real textures. The fur on the other hand is part of the model. They´re renderable splines after all.
I didn´t model the opening mechanism since these are usually covered by the hair on this type of object.

Anyway, if hair and colors aren´t ok for this challenge please don´t include the model in the voting since it´s pretty much useless without hair and colors. Maybe next time. :)

personally i say no to both, its the models shapes not colour selection thats under fire here. i could tolerate colouring though but what i really don't like is the rendered hair effect, thats completley unsuable in the type of situation most of us model for and some of us are using modeling studios that have that functionality removed simply because its not pertiant to the types of model we usually model.
