Well since I also want to do hats that makes it 3 to 2. But it's going to be more like wearable items than just hats. Like the spy's camera beard or the soldier's medal.

I'm going to vote vehicles, mainly because I'm a little unconvinced that the hat's would be a very even playing ground.I'm not sure but I think its a little hard judging someone's modelling ability from a small low poly item with relatively plain textures, especially when some will probably be presenting in-game with the tf2 shader applied while others will be less fortunate.

Ok, well, I am retracting my vote then :p Besides, thinking about it more, the number of contestants is usually too small and a vehicle is a pretty big undertaking, so maybe small easy to make objects is better.

-edit- I Really don't care and will attempt an entry whichever it is.

I vote vehicle. But maybe you could just do one after the other.

And maybe you could combat the low number of entries in the model battles by talking to Blink and maybe having a Battle Alert thing at the top of the main forum page.

I vote hats. I'd prefer to see what people come up with in under that theme.

Well since vehicles has 4 votes (I'm not retracting Carbons), and due to the amount of hats popping up in the pimpage thread, I'm gonna go with the theme 10,000 people aren't already working on. I don't want a person who's already working on a hat and is nearly finished to just enter that as soon as I start the compo, I want these models to be made specifically for the competition.

It's probably paranoia, but another thing (as someone already said) a vehicles compo would be easier to judge. Maybe next week I'll start a hat compo (although I'm damn near broke).

Oh shit. Was just looking at the first page to look for more info on guidlines and stuff (since I haven't joined in before). Guess my vote doesn't count anyway. ;P

I guess it would be kinda fucked up if I wrote a max script to generate geometry. But don't worry, I'll play dumb. lol

If you wanted to write a script then more power to you. It would probably be good practice too.

By the way I set up a PayPal account for donations, in case anyone would like to. 100% of monies go to the battles.

It's nearing time for a new challenge. I want to get one started this Monday, and since I have no ideas and am lazy, etc suggestions would be very welcome.

I'm implementing a new rule as well. I'll keep giving out prizes from now on only IF there are at least 5 final entries other than myself, because I don't count myself in these battles. So no more of having 1 entry say, and automatically giving a prize because that person wins by default.

I'm super smart like that.
