Speed Challenge 14 - Fire

Postby RawMeat3000 on Sat Mar 28, 2009 11:43 am

:env_firesource: :env_fire:

There are so many crappy puns and double entendres I could use right now, but I won't. Clever (or not) wordplay isn't why we're here. Modeling is, so let's get right down to it.

This challenge is all about fire. It's effects, things used to make it, things used to fight it. Could be anything from a kitchen stove to a straight up flamethrower. From a firetruck to one of those water carrying helicopter things.

Time limit for this challenge is 2 hours, I'm conflicted about whether or not that should include render time though. As usual post renders, wireframe, poly counts and time spent in this thread.

The challenge ends around 8 am Monday GMT.

Longer than 2 hours is fine, but I'll definitely crack down when it gets over 3.

:) Not being a 'druggie', or ever smoking/drinking/using in my life, I'm honestly surprised that I knew that was a bong. I blame the interwebs for my corruption D:<

Awesome, looks just like my cousins bong lol. Though you forgot the ice holder ;)

I'd love to whack something up but I don't have the time, unless there's an extension and I can work on it Monday evening.

Rendering a little something right now.

Admittedly its a lot of primitives mashed together but hopefully its creativity makes up for its lack of detail.

Heres my entry. Not really sure if a flare gun counts so feel free take mine off if it doesnt. Tried to keep face count low while having a decent amount of detail.

1630 polys or 3326 tris [including flares]
approx 2hrs including render time
