Still need to work on tail and then hard edge things for turbo smoothing.

Well I got one more before I am done with this contest. So here it is the Steam Punk Car. With a fully automated Coal loading panel, and a driver friendly control set for ease of use, this is the perfect vehicle of travel for yourself. Give that horse a rest, and welcome in the new era of Steam Powered vehicles. :P

Took a bit longer then the last one, but this required more detail than the building.

Nice job Epifire! So which one are you going to submit? I realize now that I didn't include "one submission per person" as a rule, but that is the case regardless, same with every previous battle. You could combine the two into one scene, though. That would be great!

Okay so I took your advice and here it goes for the final submitted screen shots. I tried getting them into the Unreal engine for fancy rendering but the XSI plugin does not appear to work well with my mod tools. So in other words I apologize for the bland gray, and lack of good render lighting, but I think it was worth it anyway.

Now for my rendition, and glimpse into the world of Steam Punk...

It's been a lot of fun taking the time to actually compete with others in a challenge to test my metal, and I truly have enjoyed it. I still wish I could have done more, but I am looking forward to seeing the final results from everyone.

Mannnn you gotta texture that shit. It actually reminds me of an automobilic contraption I have currently shelved and waiting for the stroke of a brush:

And with the hitherto-mentioned "fancy UDK lighting"

XSI has been a bit of a hassle, since I have been trying to get some of the newly learned techniques adapted to it. I would certainly re-post my stuff if I actually added some good stuff to them.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's stuff finished, outside of that. I actually recall the vehicle you made there, cause I think you showed it to me a while back. Nevertheless, still cool though.

UDK supports FBX files, if you want to try that. Your model will look 100% better. A REALLY quick shitty UV map with solid color texture and some FAST FAST SHITTY specular would take like maybe an hour and make your model look 200% better.

I just learned to do stuff with turbosmoothing and made some pipe bends, I thought it was harder than it seemed.
I hope I can finish this thing on time though.. gotta pick up the pace. I've barely even started yet!

Wow nice render shot. Really liking the inner gear decor for the pipe shrouds. Dang I hope that makes some good coffee, when all is said and done. XD

Raw, wouldn't it make more sense to give us a month to complete the models? I myself am busy with school during weekdays and usually don't have all weekend long to work on a model. I'm sure I'm not the only person finding two weeks to be a small time frame considering others also have school/work and cant really find as much time to work on their projects. Personally I don't know I can finish up by Monday, but I could sure as hell make something kick ass by late April early May.
