Modelling Challenge #4 - Steampunk (Poll)

After weeks of blood, sweat, and tears, Interlopers.net presents to you the finalists of the 75th annual modelling challenge! Judge them however you want, but keep in mind things like relative skill level and adherence to the theme. I'm not sure if there will be any prizes, since I think only 2 of these (other than Black Stormy's) are actually finals. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Some of these didn't really meet the so-called requirements of the contest, but I chose to include them anyway because there were so few overall submissions.

I know these weren't marked finals, and normally it's one submission per person, but I don't feel right not including these in the poll.

I know for my own work, all I was able to do was a gray render shot in XSI. Was a great theme that I couldn't pass up, even if the scene never hit the final stages on texturing.

From my knowledge the rules were to have one model per user. Since I am so level design based in general, I found it most inspiring, even if I didn't win. I just had too since I love Steam Punk so much.

Really, just because of their detail and refinements I am at a loss between voting on Black_Stormy's "Canine Pedestrial" or White Devil's Coffee Machine. Black_Stormy's model captures the gritty mechanical side of things, where as White Devil's model I would expect to see in a rather more rich home, given the immense decor making it look like one expensive coffee maker. This one will take me a while.

I voted for smurftyours, that rat is so awesome,I would love to see it textured and in engine.

I also voted for Smurfty's entry. I think its design makes the most sense while accommodating the Steampunk theme.

I had to vote for Black_Stormy on this one. The amount of effort involved with textures, and even the animation (which I didn't post because this isn't an animation challenge) was pretty impressive and above and beyond.

Good job all around though guys, some really creative stuff here.

I gotta agree there, as I did the same. Now that I look at the polls again I was like OMG three people voted on my work. I didn't actually expect anything, so that just made my day.

Smurftyours got my vote, I think the model he made looks the most interesting. It would've been a lot better if he had textured it.
