Doesnt hammer automatically save the map every few minutes to the *.vxf? To open it just rename it to .vmf.

o well ive redone the alphas and half the reeds around the water, so its not all lost. the skybox was made of displacements, which will make the filesize bigger, so im jus gonna forget about adding one.

things are looking up. ive finished the reeds and changed the lighting, etc. and added little bushes around the bases of all the rocks. ALL the rocks.

i took out the dust cloud and dust motes, add a big, flat hint brush and chucked in some vis blockers and it runs a shitload better. would i be able to host it on interlopers? i tested it with a friend and the water wasnt laggy at all.

Water and not being laggy, try telling wiggle that :P
I never get lag with water, but if I say that out loud I suddenly have
a "magical source engine" and that kinda rubbish :P

you should add a 3d sky box with some rock pillars, kinda like those in the US, don't know where just remember seeing them on tv.

hey it was athlete who came up with the magical source engine (which you do have anyways)

but when on a server with 8+ players it is bad, very bad

i was originally going to have a 3d skybox, but cause itd be displacements itd increase the filesize. its currently 5.925mb, so its quite the wait to get through steam.

yea i read that on the index. i think ill some more hints n occluders before releasing it. it gets pretty chunky at the intersections. apart from that im happy with it.
