lol after my last map ive been just testing and testing and here is one of the maps ive been making for about a week -> 2... It is very small at teh moment (duh, i did it for a week - and ive had school hours and Homework hours). But ive got a couple of questions about some of the errors i see...

1.) Notice the lights, they look really bright, yet the brightness is set to the standard 200, what could be wrong?

2.) Do you find the pillars at teh front too brush and blocky?

3.) Spraypaint = over done? (its inside to show that people have ruined it, ill be adding knocked over chairs, blood, a couple of dead bodies.)

***NOTE*** I know it looks really bad at teh moment, thats cause the map has very little models, so its almost all brush based.

Here are some side Questions:
1) Where is a good/up to date custom texture tutorial? please help! i did the one submited by (i think blink) but now its different folders, so please help a newb with this
2) a program that can help me edit songs to .wavs from MP3, shorten, and make a loop? I could get one by buy but i want to know if there is something legal and free?

Im a good texture maker and all, and i want to make custom grafiti. so i just wanted to know...

Yes its a bank and it has grafiti on it, but its supposed to be somewhat in a run down "ghetto" part of town, understand?

Technicaly its the first map im really ganna release and look for good reveiw, Im sry its crappyy *sigh lol

as far as i know there is a free program called "Bink and Smacker" which can convert music files to .wavs, but i dunno if it will work with MP3s ... i

Use spotlights for the main light and use a dim (2-3 brightness) light to fill in the dark areas. Just put them in the same spot. Not as ugly, and really nice effect.

it looks aight, some of your brushes look overly simplistic, the source enginer can handle much more detail than that (im especially reffering to the vault)
also the map looks over bright like you lost control of the mouse when placing light_spot's

rights, but light spots sometimes makes shading look a bit off... but ill do it anyway, thanks! im working on alot more stuff...

I know the valt looks really bad :( i just with i could just create a custom model.

note, Ive decided working on one spot at a time besides the layout REALLY helps me (note how much better it looks compared to DE arabia...) and thats why i just put sky around the map (dont worrry, i dont hollow whatso ever.)

again, there are mutiple ways in this map and im trying REALLY hard to get the layout good enough that its fair to both CTs and Ts (something most CS maps are lacking)

2 things, the outside is empty, i hope ur adding mroe buildings, and the roof has too much crap cluttered on it

dont worry.. the map is so far pretty big. and i am making mutipul ways... ive added alot of different buildings..

Its a night map, meaning it will be hopefuly hard to see what is ontop of some of the roofs.
