OK its my first map and its about 85% complete.

It's a mix between facility and stack from Goldeneye.

I've run the map on a server with 5 mates and it ran and played really nice.

Any thoughts would be nice!!!

texture work is good, prop placement is aight, if a bit bare in some places, brush work seems a bit simplistic, dunno, just seems too simple and square.

The rooms etc are square!!!!!!!!

Give me some ideas as to what you mean?

Like I say i'm new to this lark and am very willing and actually want advice.

The upstairs fence makes no sense. It should be a guardrail not a fence.

Also it seems some lights don't have a source (Model or window where it'd come from, logically)

edit: I think he MEANT THAT THE ROOMS ARE SQUARE. How about rounding some edges.. to start off?

I know what you mean about the fence. I did have handrails but changed it to those fences because gameplay wise it makes it alot more intersting because you can get on top of the fences (ladder in the corner).There's handrails in the other room though.

As for the lights.......? they've all got models so matbe i don't follow what you mean sorry.

Well I just didn't see it behind the fence then. The light is too bright anyway (It REALLY lights up the wall, but not the rest of the room that much, use light_spot)

BTW what difference does env_sprite make to lights?

im not saying you have to go out an round off every square coner you got, but stuff like giving doors door frames and windows window frames and giving the stairs supports, and instead of the stairs being squares, have smaller rectangles or slope the bottom of the stairs.
and like in the second screenshot you could add a little lip around the top of the room, its small things like this that can make all the difference. also make sure that not everything is the same, ill just show you a quick example of what i mean from a map in progress from me

see how it could easily be one long straight wall in all the screens, instead i break it up by putting some variant in depth in, especially in the 2nd screenshot, beginner practice would be to just make it one long flat alley.
use techniques like that in your make and it will improve it heaps/

I see what you mean, I suppose its because of the bond theme that i've left it a bit square. I'll try over the next few days to add alittle depth to the walls etc.

I don't want to change the map atall because the choke points and approaches to both bombsites seem to be spot on so I'll have a go at the whole feel of the map.

I must admit that i'm really chuffed with what i've done because as I said its the first attempt and was expecting people to just laugh, so its nice.

Thank you for your input.

What are your thoughts on the fences around the walkway?

my personal opinion is that they look a bit out of place, with the whole they're on metal grating walkways, but it actually adds a different stylistic approach which actually looks good, only concern is that people will get trapped up there and it could be frustrating not being able to jump down, just my opinion.

I thinks it looks like a really nice map. Its mostly aesthetical problems. Like the stairs seem really naff (they are floating) and everythings seems a bit boring.

Used some detail probs to liven it up a little bit. aside from that a lot of potential.

Erm....the name (blushes).
I was throwing loads of ideas around with my mates StacFac, Facstac and boy were they all bad, so we tried to get the bond thing in there, and my favorite past-time :)

Only kidding I think the name will make people think wtf is that and have a lokk at it tbh.

I think most of the names for the maps are all sooooo serious and thought it was funny.....no....just me then!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm working on all the seperate rooms now doin more complex brushwork adding some better lighting etc.

One thing though how come so many people are against a room looking ...well..normal I.e square?
