Look at the first picture lad. The texture on the floor is repeatitive, and rather dull. The entire place is generally grey, kind of faded. I suggest adding some decals, some details, some props (don't have to be phys though), and vary with the textures. Try making it look interesting, appealing. Make us want to be there, lad!

:D

Perhaps use another texture for the stairs, so they'd be more recognizable? Perhaps add some "filth" to that part, like sprays on the walls, some trash, dust in the air, you know... :D
I really like the train over there, though I think that there's some work to be done to perfect the lights - they seem a bit too focused on the floor, like in the picture of the train itself, to right.
Also, in the last picture, I think the rails a bit too bright. Usually they are rusty, and rather disgusting - and anyway they're too bright for the current light in the room. :D
Keep it up lad, good going. :-D

Nice work. I think he was aiming for grey. Try adding some decals and nice lighting.

one thing you should remember;

small = faster gameplay, less repetition.

try to make your areas that bit smaller, it'll also help with lighting and performance, although i'm thinking more HL1 here, but i'm sure smaller = faster even on Source.

oh, and i love the subway trains :) glad they're walkthroughable.
I've been mapping for 5 years and haven't completed a single thing.

It looks almost exactly the same as sof_subway (think thats the name). It was a really good custom map for SOF2

anyway, looks sweet :twisted:

I've never seen the SOF2 map before, so I hope you don't think I copied it.

yea, I was wondering
a smaller map would mean you'd be seeing the same stuff, just zipping by it usually due to the faster gameplay

Pretty cool, i like the subway carts, look realsitic. But, why is there a dillapidated car in a subway? I mean really common sense, take that out. :wink:

Lol, some kids on a joyride managed to get on the tracks by jumping the rails from a freeway next to a spot where the subway has a surface opening because of construction, the kids car was pushed back into the sub warehouse....
