the muzzle flame itself appears to actually be a a pulse round as though it was coming from an AR-2. But yes, the muzzle flash light effect is totally sweet.

A couple of things:

1) viewbob seems a tad too strong as countless people have already mentioned,

2) AK firing animation seems weak for the rather vigorous plasma muzzle flash.

Sounds are top notch, interesting music, nice environments. Shame it is the same old cliche bad commies all over again, but if it plays great it's ok.

Oh, the beginning of your video said Ливень which literally means "hard rain" rather than raindrop. If you want a translation of sorts, a couple of things to consider:
1) дождевая капля - a drop of rain
2) капля дождя - raindrop
3) дождь - rain
4) капля - drop
I am a pretty bad translator though, you might find a more artistically acceptable translation without loss of meaning. As it stands, though, it's difficult to get it into one word so maybe just "rain" or "drop" in russian would do the trick.

I'm sorry Combine? If this mod takes place in the HL2 world I will kill you all.

Let's face it, this mod will never be released. The level designer is going to be hired within a week, given the quality of their work. :0

All mods seem doomed to be vaporware, but there is something alluring enough about this one to keep it alive, plus it looks like sex.

the actual mapping isn't that spectacular... whoever is making their textures and models is very talented indeed

The lighting on the world is what's awesome. And that smoke like effect. However they may do it...

Nice use of foliage, debris, very good proportions and excellent texture choice and lighting. No matter how good a texture is it still needs to be used correctly to look good.

It is a shame though that this mod won't be able to live up to stalker in every way. The dynamic lighting in the xray engine is so incredible, it just about makes up for its inability to run without breaking every 5 minutes. I really do want to see just how good this gets.

I hope they do some major bug fixing for Call of Prypiat's x-ray engine... :P

I'm curious as to what makes a spectacular map in your opinion.

He means the brushwork is generic. The custom content on that brushwork is what is impressive.

hmm, well if by generic you mean "clean" then I'd have to agree.

none of the areas seem sparse on detail, and none of them have more faces then are needed. I personally feel that the fewer brushes you can use, the better, considering how expensive they are, and hard to optimize. And that any detail that can practically be modeled should be, and I think the raindrop team agrees. (as does the engine, apparently)

I don't see where you would add more brushes, you can always add more detail, but detailing geometry with brushes? c'mon now. Don't be silly.

Can't believe I overlooked this mod. Looks very very nice. I hope the gameplay match the rest. But why do I have the feeling a lot of mods are taking place in Russia? It's getting a bit repetitive? I really liked Paranoia and stalker... Anyway I hope to see this mod released soon :P TBA? How much work must still be done?

Someone should do a nice mod taking place in civil war in Africa or south America : :smt045
