GroezRock

Postby jister on Fri Feb 06, 2009 3:38 pm

hey have to do this modeling scene for work, doing the end result in hammer although i doubt that it's legal getting, in a way, payed for it...? well i mean i get my monthly pay and they asked me to make a model scene of a festival called Groezrock. i started in max, but soon felt like switching to hammer because it has to be the whole groundplan of the fest. like mainstage, second and third stage, vip, catering, backstage,.... the whole cha-bang. it will only be screens and maybe a vid that will be used in the end so i dunno if it's illegal or not... anyway some screens...

if its really a tent made out of cloth, in this shape, you'll have to tilt the masts a bit. As in this picture, only the center mast is vertical, the rest are slightly tilted to the outside corners

Why don't you just do a basic layout in Hammer and export that to max, the build around that.

If it's a scene render they want you could render in Hammer, but if they want a model for 3d purposes you'll need to model in max anyway.

Looks good, I'll compare your 3D version with the real tent as soon as Groezrock starts ;) aren't you in the line-up this time 'Jis, I'd love to see you play once :D
And the tent looks good so far, but the shadows are a bit weird...

nah we've put the band on hold for a while, so we could work on some other projects.

Ah to bad, I bought your album (Accusation Blues) a month ago and loved it :) But I can understand it :)
Looking at the tent again, brighten the interior up a little, it looks quite dark atm...

What kind of tent are you trying to use for? I will suggest something that will really suit your needs. And, that is using different Pop up canopies to be used in your camp or any event you would like to use it so.
