Everything looks pretty good as is. The least I could say is maybe add a few posters in those Aperture hallways... and maybe, I cant really tell with just these screenshots, but break up some of the metal walls with parts that stick out or go in, or maybe some diagonal walls where the corners are to break up square rooms.

Yea, making the metal walls uneven is something I need to do when I 'detail' things.
As for diagonal walls, I have a few of them, but they're mainly just a visual cue telling the player "go here". (They make the hallway funnel-shaped, to coax the player towards a door, etc.) TBH, there aren't many walls like that in Portal, so I don't see a reason to put them here. Part of the atmosphere in Portal was uniformity and aesthetics, and diagonal walls break the mold with the former, at least.

I'm not dead yet.

Just saying... Oh, and I'll have some new media as soon as I start the next test chamber (before monday, hopefully!)

Well, melodyne has gone and crap'd out on me, which means that I can't complete this (I need melodyne to make my custom GLaDOS scripts :() until I get it functioning again. ;(

Can it be? Is the end drawing near?! (in a good sense, silly)
The answer is 'yes'! Yes it is, as I have begun work on the final level in this map pack!!
The only thing at this point that would delay the release past the end of july would be if I came down with Leukemia, AIDS, or some other horrible condition ;)

[EDIT] Triple post?! gah! Don't leave me hangin' here, guys!

Well to be honest, I forgot all about this project.

I'll be the first to play it since I'm off for 4 months ;)

Sorry, I'll rephrase that.
By 'scripts', I meant speeches. Script in the sense of what an actor reads.
Basically, she says absolutely nothing from the original game. I've made every GLaDOS 'speech' from scratch, so you shouldn't hear anything familiar when you play.

Hope that cleared things up,
-Tic

PS:I'm halfway done with the rough-cut of my final level :D (I was away on a mini-vacation all weekend, so I missed a big opportunity to work on it :()

I've been looking forward to this, but haven't really had anything to say.

So I guess this is a support post more than anything else :D

Seeing as it's my map, I don't feel comfortable talking about it's quality (I like to be modest, blah blah blah). I've got screenies on the OP, and on my site though ;)

Thanks for the support, stoop! I'm getting kinda excited now that the end is in sight :D

HIS NUMBER OF BUMPS IS ALMOST OVER 9000!!

What's that? You don't remember this project? Well that's probably because it's been a whole damn year since I bumped, double, or even triple posted this topic.
anyway, here's an update.

While doing a playthru of my map, I came to the (only somewhat) startling realization that many of my levels have a smattering of unnecessary and quite frankly annoying bits, not to mention some finicky puzzles that would appear to require more luck than skill. Not to mention various lines GLaDOS says that would have made sense had I actually written and included a complete story arc. Assuming that not many people will enjoy listening to GLaDOS ramble on about things with little relevance, and realizing that I'm no fantastic story writer, I've begun going through old levels and cleaning them up.

Also, I've been bringing some things up to par with the newer maps. I've been working on this now for upwards of 2 years, and my mapping's improved considerably since I started. Lighting, geometry, texturing, has all improved. For some reason, I learned the wonders of autosave points somewhere in the 7th level and forgot to keep using them or, for that matter, put them into previous levels.

Ok, so getting to the point. I plan on updating the news section here periodically with my progress, but it'll be with fewer screenshots and more descriptions of what's been fixed, removed, etc. If I do any work on one of the newer levels, and it's presentation-quality stuff, I'll take some screens and throw them up here For the most part, tho, I'm focusing on revising gameplay and GLaDOS tid-bits.

-Tic

The site for this map (click my sig) is a nice, much more organized, collection of news and screenshots. I'll be updating the news section there more often than I'll be bumping this topic. You can watch the site for updates if you want, signing up (to comment and receive emails) takes 5 minutes.
Also, there are two new screenshots on the site.
