ive had to make it longer because the room along side it is the 1st otacon battle room, and ive had to make it larger than the original for gameplay reasons.

that's a good choice man, you should only use the original game as a ref, en build around that

im trying my best to keep to the original, but as the ps1s power, im having to put my own artistic representation into the game to try and recreate the games mood and atmosphere. i belive im slowly getting there with the lighting atm.
its just getting tedious looking over the same areas over and over again lol, so im doing lil rooms here and there atm to try and keep motivation

yeah keeping motivation to work on a map for a long time is hard
one thing that really helps for me is stop working on the map and make a few models in 3dsmax
after I get bored with modeling, mapping is interesting again
it is a never ending cycle

take a look at this tut, I think it will really help you out for that hole in the wall

also at the trap door, you shouldn't be using that tile texture on the walls of the pit

and try changing the orange to a blue glow at the computer screen in the second last pic, I think it will look better with the green colors

but it looks pretty nice overall

cheers to the tips, i was def ganna change the hole in the walls, its just temp atm, ill have a proper go using that tutorial.
good idea with that light actually, i can see what ya mean.
the pits need new textures i belive, im ganna have a custom texture creation day 2maro i think lol.

changed that light. still cant get the model and some textures to render properly... think ill make another custom texture and see if i can get that model sorted
