Water_station

Postby Cker on Mon May 02, 2005 8:52 pm

i'm currently working on a map called Water_Station i've so far added a small outside entrance area and some inner workings, i plan the map to fully be an underground water station jammed packed with manhacks and zombies, though slightly deviating from the story map, it'll be much different involving aid and a small fort area, just one question beforei continue mapping it, how do i create arches for doors just so they can be passed through

yeh i know it's kinda embarrasing  i survived building by deleting whole walls or moving them then positioning new walls in the resemble a door but it takes forever and i'd really prefer doors and stairs over strewnly odd chunks of wall and roof sticking about lol.
I'll check the tutorials, then hopefully will be slightly better.

well good news i figured out how to make doors ^^
And my map is going smoothly i intend to make an underwater vent for access to the water station/underground i plan to be citizens vs zombies in an all out brawl style for those homicidal maniacs in you lol, the first bit the actual water station which in my opinion is nearly done is just there to gather supplies and basically kick the C*** out of combine then it'll move onto the proper part of the map.

the pipes are not gonna be a problem and i figured fog and heavy rain as well as small flooding on the outside would make the level look good but i'm getting problems making it work right, do i have to make a whole box for rain encompassing the whole level for rain or just above it because the rain lasts for 5 seconds in a tiny amount above the visual then dissapears.

i've also had a brain storm for continuing the level, there are 2 passages, the underwater vent or a long tunnel full of debris and zombies, the upside to taking the tunnel is you get 2 citizens with big pulse rifles following you, or you can take the vent and miss half the zombies but end up with no citizen help later on, i'm working on the canal room now, and gonna put the details in after the level is made like de_train or de_rats on counter strike ^^ i'll also be mounting a sentry gun on a small ledge overlooking fast zombies s well as a small base to store the AI sentry gunz
