Hiya peeps this is my first post here and i just wanted to showcase my latest HL2 project here to get a bit of feedback on the theme. The map is currently 95% complete and just needs a few bug fixes, weapon placements and to be filled up a bit with various objects.

As you can see it takes a very sci fi theme, set on a 'star ship' which is orbiting an unknown world. Im Using a completely new texture set and running mid-high FPS on my fairly mid range system.

All comments are welcome.

wow, very nice
lots of custom textures I presume?
Also, it looks really inspired by/based on the Star Wars hangars we see (like in Jedi Knight II)
you should really add that so there isn't any confusion

very sleek and sexxah! the only problem i have with it is the wierd white bits on the floor. look out of places. maybe if they had a border, so they looked like a light built into the floor or something . . . but theyd probably still looks out of place.

anyway, very sexy. hope to play it soon :P

Yeah most of the textures except 2 selfilum textures are new and im actually quite glad you noticed the simirality (SP?) to SW because thats kinda the look i was going for. I previously modded for Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy before so ya know :)

I did consider taking them out at some point anyway, or maybe replacing them with decals, so you saying that has made my mind up on the matter :-D They are just inverts of the black floor texture, but under the lights they tend to lose there detail and just look overly stark, so remove them i shall do :)

Any more comments are welcome, with any luck it should be released inside the next few days.

Nice to see some good custom textures. I agree by losing those strange lights. If you could get some custom props in there it would be great. Would do good in an ES map: http://www.eternal-silence.net

Agree with everyone, looks brilliant. I wouldn't change anything except maybe those funky white deals you already said you are going to remove!

Reaper: He said this was his first post to Interlopers, not first map! If this is his first map, I would imagine it not to hard for him to find work mapping! :P

Thanks peeps im quite surprised how well people have taken to the look of the map, seeing as how little it looks from the default HL2 maps. This isn't my first map, though it is only my second HL2 map, i mapped for Jedi Knight for a very long time and most noted for Survival Mod 2 or for Geonosis Complex of which i won a mapping contest. So i pretty much knew the basics before moving to HL2.

Anyhoo, thanks peeps i just hope its able to live up to expectations now :?

that looks very tuff to make, a modern marvel indeed. its brillant, never seen an accomplishment as well done as this in this theme forever!
