[WIP] Mountain Mayhem

Postby Oilcake on Thu Nov 26, 2009 7:16 pm

Hey! I started mapping about 6 months ago, and figured it was time to release a few details about the Left 4 Dead campaign I'm working on called Mountain Mayhem...

Here is the page at L4Dmaps.com

And here's the developer blog I've set up, which I'll post to as work progresses...

Any and all comments/advice appreciated! Cheers!

In pic nr. 1,2,5 and 8, the fog doesn't match the sky :)

Thanks Vyck! Glad you dig it...

FOxHunter: The fog colour in the main map and the 3d skybox are the same... Do you mean that you think I should make the fog a darker colour?

Thanks for the input. Cheers!

Looks nice, you've certainly got the l4d feeling in there.

I think what he means is that the mountains, due to the fog, clearly stand out from the actual sky and it makes it look weird and not very realistic.
Perhaps a custom sky would work a lot better there :)

Besides that it looks very nice indeed :smt023

I've had quite a few comments about the fog/sky, so I'm definitely going to make some changes... Thanks for the input!

well your map looks great, but there is some kind of error in all your pics, It looks like there is somekind of stain in the corner that keeps drawing my eye...

Good plan. I like it thus far, though I agree the fog color is really taking me out of the scene.

I also thought that in the first two screens especially there is a lot of open space with not much going on. Other than that, looking good, keep up the good work!
