Chase PQ playable arcade videogame

Postby byblo on Wed Dec 23, 2009 3:14 am

I started making this game for a multiplayer map.
After 3 weeks of hard work, I noticed that the point_camera was originally made for single player, and buggy on multiplayer games...

So, here is what I've made so far, it missing only the musics and some story's arts.
BTW, if somebody wants to help (drawing in japanese comics style), feel free to contact me. I'd like to release it for mapper who are making maps for single player.

A video showing the game in action :

I was so near to see my old dream becoming almost true... (playing a videogame inside another videogame ^^)

Holy fuck I love you how did you do this? Is that in another part of a level and just REALLY well scripted with a viewcontrol?

Sure :)
Here is the map containing the playable videogame (unfinished).
Download link: (BSP+source files. 2,75MB) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=91MZD91T
Please note that it will work properly ONLY in Zombie Master (hl2 mod), or HL2 deathmatch.

I have also included the source VMF, in case somebody wants to confirm that I am a masochist...
The game takes 12% of entdata...

Awesome work! Would you mind posting a screen of the materials? I'm curious what the "model" looks like for all the 2D cars..... are they models? lol

Very impressive! Great job scripting!
So I showed her. Gave it right to her like I owed her. That's when I turned from Shrek the Ogre into Master Yoda.

Its simply a polygon with a transparent texture. For the physic side, its a cylinder (to follow the track) with 3 attached cubes for the collision detection for traffic cars.

Yes, you can win :)
It is based on the Chase HQ concept by Taito: Run after a criminal, and before the timeout, bump his car until he stops or you lose. Theres are multiple levels, then the ending credits ^^;

Obviously, the game is total crap, comparing the original arcade.
Before abandoning it, it was simply a "bonus" for my ZM map.

Merry Christmas.
