I moved this here from the model section as I was looking for tree models there, it's a castle type map slightly bigger than dust2 I suppose, there is still a long way to go on this but it's coming along. The lighting and sky is not final that will all be changed as well as a custom texture set.

Sweet! It reminds me of one of the maps from the Cube engine (which is a good thing). The ground in the first shot could use some displacements and the hole in the ceiling would look great with a light beam. Other than that, it looks awesome!

I did do a light beam it's a model actually but maybe I should try a brighter brush based one.

Wow, looks really good. Some nice brushwork.


But I agree, you do need some new tree models : P

Also you need a better transition between the stone and grass in the first pic

I am not overly fond of that texture anyway doesn't fit well, it's from militia I think. May look at changing it.

nice work. The lighting is IMO a bit bland [maybe because its a multiplayer map]. And the shadows that are showing seem to be off to where they should be.
Have you tried any other variations on outside lighting?

Yeah lighting is a bit bland from what ive seen in the screenshots a bit darker bluish lightning would match better with the skybox (as seen in the second screenshot)

Hmm I agree the lighting is a bit bland, perhaps you could-
N'ah I'll shut up :P I read your post ^^

I can't really fault the architecture and geometry of it, one look at screenshots 7 and 8 said that. I know some parts aren't finished yet so I expect the rest of the map will begin to look a bit more like that'. It looks nice so far. Perhaps when you get to the stage of tweaking the lighting you might wanna detail the higher points a bit more? It's not massively important right now, but maybe some archer slits, (Could just be a decal to keep performance up, since you won't get too close to them) few more decorative brushes and func_detail-worthy architecture goin' on.

I'd love to see a catapult or trebuchet somewhere in there xD Not necessarily working, but it'd become a trademark to the map :P
