RigorMortis - Explosive Solution

Postby trcc on Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:14 pm

It was a class assignment to create a micro-game with 4 other level designers, each maps had to be at least 5 minute long of gameplay. We had to make our LDD and everything else.

The main story is you wake up in an hospital (like 28 days later) There is a zombie apocalypse going on. You seek for help in the abandoned city, find someone that inform you military failed to trigger a bomb in order to wipe out the entire city. In the previous level, the player has to get the bomb and bring it to the rooftop (via window-cleaner platform) and this is where my level starts. Bomb is on the table and you must reach the closest helipad in order to flee out of the city and trigger the bomb.

The video is available in HD. I had to increase the brightness because Youtube like to darken my videos for some reasons :(

Project duration: 1 month

I can say this is a complete map but without the 4 others levels, does not feel complete.

Looks "okay'. Desperately lacks a 3D skybox though, or am I to believe the city is in midair?

Well some of inaccessible buildings are part of the skybox. I'm still a big noob with skyboxes. My initial plans were to extend downward all my buildings and to put details in the street levels, but My entdata is already 98%, I couldn't use any props for the street level ( street level would be included in 3d skybox ) I'm not experienced enough with modeling so..
Unfortunately, did not have much choice.
It's a bit like l4d no mercy hospital, but worse lol.

It is a video game level design 1 year intensive program held at Ubisoft Campus, Downtown Montreal.

Is it in French or English; and how would I apply?
Like a normal cegep?
Or is it completely different?

Everytime I see this thread I keep thinking it's something to do with exploding bodies.
