You do know if you don't convert those rails into models, then you are going to have some brush count problems.

sorry poor word selection, I meant inset. usually windows are set into the wall a bit. Not perfectly lined up with the outside wall.

Yes I know that, but it's still in the building phase.

Actually they're a little extended, but you can't really see it. I'm not sure about indenting the windows, I'll try it but i think it'll look strange

you can work with ep1 or HL engine If you don't want to stop work, but some models/textures would be missing, and playtesting would be a pain.

Hum, i found out that L4D's materials work in CS:S now. Interesting...

Anyway, I got around to fixing the roads. Notice the L4D road texture. I hope it isn't bad to use it.

so back on track now?

If so I would like to ask if you can have the long strait be on an incline? it would make things more ...interesting... and would give more depth to the alley you plan to put in.

I would also like to see how the new building(s) looks in the complete view.

Yeah, i'm working out the road design a little more. Hopefully I can make it look less like a racetrack.

Right now i'm pondering on adding a row of shops farthest away from the current houses

Try angling the road a bit at points, not a bunch just like 15 - 20 degrees. Some small inclines and declines too.

well for road design why not have it be a rectangle, but then have a threeway intersection to the left and at the bottom, and make the boundrys waver (so they can cross the third street of the intersection, ect) so it doesn't look rectangular,

...some referance pics will help...

Perhaps you should make the roads extend "out of the map" as to make it appear as though your neighbourhood exists in a larger urban area, and isn't just some self contained arena.
