this project isn't dead yet.

I have made progress on the courtyard, but because of the ep2 error I have been unable to properly edit the first bit (subway) so I have made progress on the apartment instead.

I still need to tweak it some more, but If you have any blinding insight into how to improve this, I am all ears...

but wait! there's more... you remember that empty space to the left of my brick apartment? well in order to fix that I needed to build past the apartment, and when one thing leads to another...this happens.

detailing has begun

I am almost ready for the first playtests, I just need to add a few things gameplay wise (and maybe detail some more)

I still need to
-fix audio (custom audio and music)
-remake starting room
-add effects and light sources
-improve lighting inside the apartment
-fix/add more wires
-add more rubbish
-finish detailing buildings (add more detail buildings, and a 3D skybox)
-change the sky texture to something less...default.
-add roof to construction site building (or just texture the beams)
-add level change

and of course fix/change any problems found or suggested by beta testers.

then it's on to map two, which unlike map one, will be made from the ground up.

The lighting near the fence looks a bit odd, it just cuts off at the fence edge.

I'm no expert yet but I'm not a noob either. My opinion is it's looking good, though my personal opinion is I don't like the lighting color, seems a bit too blue. I liked the light befroe the blue tone, but again that's just me.

I think I will lighten up the blue a bit more, but about the fences... was there a tutorial on how to have proper lighting with fences?

Also you can just turn off shadows in the fence model's properties. Also, there's a billboard frame sitting on top of the building in front of the square. It needs the shadows turned off too.

I think the light_environment looks artificial, as though a huge Combine light was shining on the whole area. Also, the ambient color is very dark, especially in the alley image posted earlier.

Brushwork looks good.

It does that.

I'd advise checking the default light settings for your sky, and compiling in HDR. It'll look a lot better.
