The lighting seems really bland to be emanating from such few light sources. Try to add beams to the spots, and see if you can't somehow increase the lit-to-dark-area-contrast. Industrial maps are prime territory for extreme-angled spotlights casting cool looking shadows.

the geometry and detail looks good from that angle. The rock wall isn't bad tbf, it looks like its been cut that way by human hands however, whether that's what you were going for or not.

Lighting wise I think a nice yellow/orange spot light coming up out of that vent on the floor and then reducing the rest of the lighting. Make it feel dark with a few areas of extreme light.

my god, I seriously have SO MUCH to do :S small update anyway, I'm pretty happy with this area and kinda close to calling it finished.

floor needs a bit more work, possibly more trim around the grate. Ceiling in top right of the shot needs to be removed and replaced with a drop-down vertical vent space. Mostly everything else I'm happy to call final I guess. The 2 rooms I want to get done before tomorrow evening are the 'outside' room on the right of the second image, and the corner air shaft room which is going to be directly behind the camera in both shots.

Room on the right here leads to 'the surface' hence the strong lighting

Do you a dead line or something? Sounds like you're in a hurry.

yeah, I'm going to a conference expo next week so my whole portfolio is going to print on thurs/fri this week. I want to get some more environment work finished up for my portfolio - this is it. I worked for about 15 hours on different stuff yesterday, and about 10 so far today.

Looks really good, I should try and do something with the editor as well... Haven't quite got the hang of it.

surface entrance area is on hold for now, looks like it might be quite a lot of work to polish it up.

so, started on the coolant storage/ventilation corridor:

need to work more on the coolant storage room, but I think this is me for today. The pumping room is like 99%, just playing around with small tweaks now and camera angles now.

And is the spark engine related to source in anyway, it seems as though they have a bit in common.

They have little to nothign in common afaik. They work totally differently in technical aspects, use different file formats etc..

In the second image of your latest set they yellow lighting on the roof seems to cut off very abruptly, you might want to see if you can soften the edge.
