Postby DarkIceJack on Sat Nov 27, 2010 2:47 am

Update Jan 9 2011

The map is about 90% finished now, still have a couple areas that need more detail and lighting in curtain areas needs tweaked.

The brush work is very basic and blocky, exspecially in the 2nd pic

Third pic's point_spotlight is way too large; make it smaller to fit the light source.

I'm liking it so far, and yes I can see that it's snowing.

I can see what your trying to do with the outside area to make it look less blocky, but your going about it the wrong way. Even with the windows its still a flat wall, try adding things like columns and ridges maybe even an awning above the roller door. Check out cs_office and see how the facade of the buildings isn't flat.
Just troll Google image search for a pic you like and try to recreate it. Will make your map look and feel 100% more realistic and less blocky.

sorry about the bad grammar.

DarkIceJack that's a huge improvement, but logically speaking I don't think that type of sliding garage door could possibly work on a curve because it needs to roll up at the top.
Mappers Top Tip #548
Lighting: The arrangement, hue and intensity of one or multiple light sources.
Lightning: A dazzling discharge of electric sparks in the atmosphere, often preceding thunder.

At the moment the texture is just there as a place holder, will make a custom texture for it at some point

As you can see the room has totally changed, i added skylights, trusses and a second level (non accessible at the moment), just getting the lighting right and adding more props at the moment
