Thats a wall light, and the apc will be replaced, and when i say ive finished i didnt mean the map i meant textruing the wall.

Ofcourse im not mapping god but i have to say it is a start.

but, the think i find in the map is that the tuxtures dont fit, the roof looks kinda like mud, and there is a missing pic...

Cheers yokai, not all the textures are final anyway, but what do you think of the custom support in the last shot.

erm, if i were you i would trash the map and remake it...

i will give you a good way to start mapping, never start with a ground layout in hammer (i mean have a layout in mind but dont build it.)... Focus on one room then expand and expand and expand... ect ect ect.

looks good, seems a little boxy though, arcutecture could do with being a little more "sproosed up" if you will, even if its just things like bits of wall poking out in a sort of "suport beam" maner, not everywere minde you, some of its fine as is and seeing as its your first map, not bad, keep it up!

well...yeah, my mate Kris has just started mapping (with me as a tutore) and his farm map is exelent, and has a lot in comon with your map (looks wise) plus we never get anywere without a little confidence boost ;) lol

Yo!
First of all, Yoshi that was too much lad.

Second, I think you shouldn't release this map at all, Grim. Not because it is good or bad, it doesn't matter. What matters is that this is your first map, and its most important function is to practice Hammer and learn. I usually tell mappers that they should take it easy when they start. If you have an amazing idea PUT IT ASIDE until you're positive you can do it perfectly. Perhaps in your third or fourth attempt. In a couple of months you'll look back and cuss yourself for making this map. A few months later you'll look back and cuss yourself again for making much better maps. This is the nature of progress, take it easy.

I'll tell you what - complete this map as good as you can and I am sure that the boys and I will even be happy to draw a few rounds in it. It's a great start, I'll tell you that, but even great skill needs a lot of practice to become usable. So just keep on mapping, you'll get there.

Okie dokie, cheers for the heads up rafeal.

Just one thing, i need to learn to start doing more detailed brushes, if i could i would, but im like automatticaly doing square brushes.

So does anyone know ANYTHING that can help me do better brushes, tutorials, advice, ideas etc. etc.

And by the way rafeal, does it really look that good?
