Map intended for the Freedom4Gamers Half-Life 2 Roleplay server, includes themes from both the leak and retail Half-Life 2, sources of inspiration include concept art featured from Raising the Bar, Tim Burton's Batman (1989 Gotham City) and Blade Runner.

Map is still a work in-progess, the area displayed below is the industrial zone and yes the "district" train does in fact function and it is intended to bring players to the main area of the map.

I am still actively working on the lighting and that area is still not finished, picture eventual congestion.

Looks pretty sweet. I really like the colors and contrast. The art style in the HL2 beta I've felt has always been superior to the actual release.

Thanks for the feedback, and I agree, the original art style had a darker feel to it, but maybe the execution wasn't as good as it could be (we didn't see it in a finished state anyway), just my opinion.

Hey that's really pretty. Lookss like FF7 Midgar in HL2 beta style.

Appreciate the feedback, although I was unaware/not inspired by FF7 Midgar, I can see your comparison :D

Looks cool but it's really dark, all that I see is the building in the back any other angles?

The atmosphere looks good, but I'd suggest tuning down those beams a bit. Light will not throw such opaque beams in a fairly clear atmosphere. Also, watch out that some thin beams don't fit the light source at all.
