Nice layout. could go with some lights, bit more detail, bit more cover. How did you get the rain to not be purple?

I have no idea. i couldnt get my snow to work on fz_icebox tho.

I'm gunna add some lights so it doesnt look dumb with mat_fullbright.
I'm gunna add more distance between the two spawns and add more cover and boxes.

I'm glad you like the layout :P

Oh god...it just looks like an aztec clone, and the overall quality looks no better than a 1.6 map. Keep tryin....maybe a different layout and some better textures.

sorry but i have to agree with rommel, this is source, try some alpha maps on the terrain and a quick hint, when your building geometry with the displacement maps use a really large radius with the brush, also make it to the power of 4 instead of 3 and you can make the terrain smoother

I never got the chance to take your advice on the displacement. but for some reason i cant get paint alpha to work. whenever i click, nothing happens

Ok now its looking a lot better. The old pics looked like crap. Your map still looks like an aztec clone though so you are going to have to add in your own variations to get people not to call it a clone.

its cause your not using a blend texture, type blend in the texture filter to get textures that work with alpha mapping

Why is the shading on those pillars look like crap? I thought the shadowing in the new engine was suppose to make shadowing look prettier. (yes I said prettier go to hell)

Hmm, yes, i think the problem is more with monkey's video settings rather than the engine.

- Terrain. Try using the smooth tool over a large radius (say size 15 or so) to... uh, smooth out the spikes in your terrain a little.

- Some one mentioned that it looks like an aztek clone, and while it's not your fault that you only got a few textures with CS and HL2, you have to get some variation in there somewhere. A nice varied palette of textures is a great thing in a map, and can set your map apart from astek.

It's a nice start, keep it up! Improved loads since the first pics. :)

I said it looks like an aztec clone not just because of the textures but also:

-The wall supports look like they were ripped straight from 1.6 Aztec.
-The swampy-area has a stream going thru it with the metal grate at the end of it (what map does that remind you of?)
-The area with the pillars over-looking the swampy-area looks familiar as well.

Not to mention the aztec crate textures ;)

I'm not out to totally bash your map; just trying to give you a little constructive critiscism. :)
