My first hl2 map

Postby Friendly Garg on Fri Dec 17, 2004 7:30 pm

Hey all,

I've been working on this map for a while now. It'll be a co-op map for Svencoop 2 and/or a singleplayer "mod" for Half Life 2. Here's a couple of screenshots:

Let me know what you think so far.

Having problems finding some cool textures for that dam though. If you have any suggestions....

By the way. Cool tutorials, really helped out.

nice

Postby far on Fri Dec 17, 2004 8:20 pm

it seems quite good.

In the second shot i think your skybox is a little misaligned.

You might want to add a treeline on the cliffs as there was in the orginal game.

but as this is your first map, just make sure you don't rush out the map, as people nowadays are trying to submit maps as quickly as possible without good testing or without making good use of the source engine etc.

Anyway keep up the good work & keep us updated

I'm glad you guys like it so far. Keeps me motivated.

Not sure what you mean by "treeline" though.

If your looking to spruce up the damn i'd suggest using prop_static models. the canal folder has some realy useful things a long these linies. texture wise try searching for concrete. I'm currently working on a map which has a damn of sorts and i found some very useful textures in there.
