Postby xaveri on Wed Dec 22, 2004 3:01 am

This is the first official map that i will be releasing to the public, so i would like to have the opinion of the community before I release it. I dont believe in relesing betas so I want it to be as perfect as possible for the release wich will happen in a couple of days. Please feel free to criticize it in any way, and give out ideas that would make it better.

The group of building in the all look like copies of the other. Even the textures are lined up the same. It kinda looks like a cookie cutter job.

Looks pretty sweet for the most part. The groups of buildings is understandable from the theme. Some parts do look pretty repetitive like how some of the windows work.

Physics placement looks not too grand, grouping them alltogether like in this pic while the rest of the map looks pretty bare might not be a good idea. (and just the fact one explosion would set that would place up to explode probably isn't good for people's systems)

Really neat work on the theme/mood though.

Someone suggested in another forum if this was a remake of a map from COD. It is not. I havent even seen the map from COD, this is just an idea that i had and if it looks similar is because it was based on photos from the real thing.

You are absolutely right slayera. Changing the textures on those buildings will make it more realistic. Thank you for pointing that one out. I will be making the appropiate changes.

As I mentioned above, the buildings are gonna change. As of the physics placements, at least for now I've been testing the map with some friends and it seems that the objects are placed in good spots and i have the right amount of them. You are right about one thing, the area where all the barrels and boxes are together can be easily destroyed with explosions from the barrels and I'm working on improving that. Thanks for pointing that out.

Remember that this is pow camp, you cant have stuff laying around the whole map because it wouldnt be realistic.

I think you should have some low open shallow graves, looks to old and barren for an active POW camp. A half cover body might be cool. Just cover it over with a clip brush. I think your trying to mix themes together. As a matter of fact you might just cut that out and use it in another map. Just an idea, take it or leave it.
