i have a problem. i made the room in the middle have a wooden floor, and it is reflecting the skybox, even though it is inside. i tried putting a cubemap inside the room, hoping that the wood could then reflect it's own room. but that didn't work. any idea how to make the wood A) not reflect things, or B) reflect the room? here's a screenie..

positive, in that screen i'm looking in the direction of the sun, and that's what is being reflected...also, if you look out the door, you can tell that it is reflecting the sun and clouds from that direction...is there a way to make the texture not shiny? or should i just change the texture...

i think ur sun is shining through the door. edit the pitch to change it.

yea, i want the sun to shine through...there is normally a breakable brush there for a door...would that have anything to do with it rendering wrong?

Entities don't block light, so possibly.

well, i just changed the floor to a wood that isn't shiny and through a rug on it...still looks nice.

me and some of my clan buddies will be testing this map tomorrow night. from there i will make the final changes/additions and then my map will be ready for release. if anyone is interested in downloading it, i should have it ready by late tomorrow or maybe Wednesday. :)

I have that exact same problem with the env_cubemap and some wood textures from chateau, even if I pick a face for the cubemap to be tied too, it still effects the entire map.

yea, i don't know how to fix that...maybe it will be easier in the full version of SDK...but who knows
