Unnamed HL2DM Map

Postby Jungleraz on Sun Dec 26, 2004 5:31 pm

Hi folks
Some screenshots from a map i've been working on for a couple of weeks. It's not finished yet, I think i might change the skybox to fit the sun better, make some streetlights, and I'll probably add a couple of decals too.

Tell me what you think

Somehow i managed to save the vmf file while hammer wasn't able to. So the vmf is messed up and all there's left of this level is a rather unfinished bsp test. :(

try renaming the vmt or vmsomething in your maps folder to .vmf, its a backup map file incase something like that happens (although it did not save my 2fort map :'()

Or better yet every few days copy your .vmf file into another folder to ensure you have a good backup.

Best choice of all: Run a CVS server on your machine. You can commit the map to your repository every time you make a significant change. It also lets you make a note for every commit and keeps you from having to remember what backup is what - you can always return to any previous version.
