[DOD Source] Real weapon audio - release

Postby Saxon on Wed Nov 04, 2009 2:35 pm

Hey guys, just thought I'd post a link to my latest realism soundpack http://www.fpsbanana.com/sounds/9316

Basically this is a soundpack for DOD Source which has clean, crisp audio. Nothing is overloud, muddy or garbled. What this should do is improve immersion for players by offering audio which sounds as it would do in real life.
The soundpack features new distant gunshots and some new reload sounds.

Check out the preview and download the pack at FPSBanana!

ALSO check out a pair of K98 sounds I also made that didn't fit the pack, but nevertheless sound awesome http://www.fpsbanana.com/sounds/9313

Wow, excellent work! I'm seriously considering replacing my DODS sounds with these and I am generally not one to do stuff like that. I am also curious - did you record these yourself, or just edit pre-existing samples? If the former, would you happen to be looking for a bit of modwork?

As it says on the FPSBanana page - real weapons :D

@Ennui, these sounds aren't from a sound library / etc, they're original recordings ;)

It depends what you guys want doing really, and what I can get access to. Everyday foley sounds are easy enough for me to make (though I need some new AAA batteries for my microphone... urgh :smt022 ) guns obviously take me a while to track down.

I haven't made many "scary" sounds before, though you can usually make some with animal audio, a bottle of coke & refreshers XD

I use Goldwave to mix my audio. Theres a similar program you can get for free called Audacity.
