Before I recently had to reinstall my OS because of a virus, I somehow mysteriously had the Companion Cube model from Portal in Hammer for HL2, despite the fact that I've never installed Portal on this computer and I don't own Orange Box. Well, after a reinstall of SDK I don't have it anymore, but I had been planning on using it in one of my HL2DM maps
I posted my problem on another HL2DM forum, and somebody uploaded the model for me. The problem is that Hammer can't see it, and Model Viewer gives the error message "Error Loading Model", which leads me to believe that the model I had before must have been one someone had decompiled from Portal then recompiled for HL2, and had included in a map.
Is there any way I can get the Portal model to work for me? Thanks for any help.
