The geometry looks solid, but the main room should be significantly brighter than that (unless it's supposed to be dusk, of course). All of the halls with outside windows, or skylights, for that matter, are very well lit

I´ve been experimenting with several lighting setups. If i´m not wrong, that screenshot is from an older attemp and compiled with -fast. The current version is a little brighter but not so much because I like grungy and creepy environments. You see, that place has given me a lot of inspiration but i don´t want to make an exact copy. I can take my own way in some details.
Thanks for the compliments about the screenshot, it´s certainly under development yet. It´s part of a mod that I´m very slowly and steady working on since about three years ago. I plan to have it finished before Source gets utterly obsolete.

Ok, I understand. Like I said, the geometry is pretty much spot-on, as are most of the textures. I can't wait to see the finished product :)

Are the shadows in the first pic real? If so, what lightmap resolution were you using?

Interlopers, where people lose their minds. How could you not know if those shadows are real? But really, what's the lightmap resolution?

Oh you guys. The shadows are real and I have no idea how to tell what their lightmap resolution is IRL.

I had not noticed that but you're right, it does look that way.

a "unlittwotexture"
Code: Select all
"Unlittwotexture"
//"UnlitGeneric"

{
   "$basetexture" "display/dev_monitor"
   "$surfaceprop" "glass"
   "$additive" "1"
   "$texture2" "display/dev_scanline"
}

thats all :P
the most important is the raster texture

*ahem* Back to photos
Shot on Ektar 100. Only a few good shots from this roll, a lot of them came out poorly exposed... Gonna have to check my light meter.

I had not heard of ektar film, but I really like it's color rendition for urbex photography. That's a great set too, it's a shame you had to throw out a bunch of photos.

I climbed a grain elevator on the 4th of July for a better view and I snapped a couple photos while I was up there.
