Alright, now it's not using it at all.

EDIT: The part wasn't getting exported because it didn't have a texture.
But, I have the 8-sided one, and there's still no hole.

You have to seperate the cylinder around the hole into seperate pieces and give them a unique smoothing group. So you can't have a cylinder with a hole in it as that gap confuses studio and so it says fuck it. So use the slice tool and break it up at each vertex like a puzzle of pieces put together to form a tube.

Blargh. I take it the amount of pieces in a collision model doesn't matter?

No but there's only 32 unique smoothing groups so plan wisely. Also a complex collision means laggy lag lag but I've never worried unless it's copy/pasted 100 times.

If you need more than 4 or 5 smoothing groups on any model, ever - you're doing it wrong. If you actually have trouble because of the limit of 32 unique smoothing groups, it highlights that theres something wrong with your method.

Yes, but I can't get it to get the hole any other way.

You can't have a collision part with a hole. That's not convex. You need to make a ring of 8 blocks to make up the body of the gear. It's the same as how you build things in Hammer--you can't have a brush with a hole in it.

Alright, different problem:
I have a animated collision model (therefore, I'm using collisionjoints, and can't do concave), no two points are in the same place, and it's still blending them!
What the hell!
When I tried to export the different cubes as different models, the ones that were separate from the rest of the mesh just didn't get exported at all.
