Maya object question

I follow this tutorial here

This is my question, not sure if it's a problem:
When I move a branch without the blue line, the model stretches and looks awful - will that blue line show up in game? If so how do I fix it/delete it so it doesn't appear?

You've probably solved this by now but here goes anyway,

It isn't a big deal really, but right now your branch is constrained to that blue line (normally called a curve btw) and deforms based on it's relative position to the line and the line's curvature (protip: if you select the curve and go into vertex mode you can move points around and change the shape of your branch). Pretty sure it wont show up in game, assuming you can even export it into SMD format without some sort of error. To get rid of it you first need to go to Edit>>Delete All by Type>>History, then you can delete the curve without deleting the geometry.

If you're having trouble selecting the curve, you can go into any of the 4 viewports and click Show>>None, then go to Show again and this time click Curves to make only curves appear in that viewport, this also works for lights, bones, geometry, whatever you're editing at the moment and can sometimes save you time trying to select things.

Hope this helps in some way.
