New At Modeling

Postby stukabomber44 on Fri Feb 24, 2012 5:46 am

Hey guys,

I am new to modeling for any game, but I can get objects into HL2 no sweat using WallWorm. I have a question though, when I make a bush I put together a bunch of planes with transparency and when I load it into Half-Life 2 I see that some planes vanish at a certain angle. Any idea how to make that NOT happen?

Thanks,

add "$nocull 1" to the vmt of the material that its using.

https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$nocull

only do this to models where the backfaces need to be visible, if you add it to models that don't need it then you double the number of polygons that need to be rendered.

yea $nocull fixes all though can cause trouble with transparent textures.
