Scaling Animation messing up mesh

I'm trying to make a generic 'he gets bigger' animation, by just scaling the skeleton and animating it, but the mesh turned up all stretched out (http://screensnapr.com/v/qGgwDY.png). Is there any way to actually just scale up the model, without stretching it out like that?

You have to scale the mesh too or else this will happen. Basicly it just stretches the mesh to fit with the skeleton.

EDIT: Actually I doubt this as easy as you and I might think. Because I don't know how exactly you would implement the rescaled mesh in the animation or same model

Try just scaling the root bone and nothing else in the animation. The root bone being the bone that all the others are parented to.

You have to code it, I'm not sure how, but it has been done before.

prop_scalable scales a model via inputs. It was used for the core ball, super portal, and rocket in HL2/EP2.
