Hey guys i'm working on a program that will help you convert all you gold source engine props into the source engine and I was wondering how I would take an image like this:

and be able to automate the steps of making the blue (or any other color) into an alpha channel (the originals are .bmp i have them converted to .tga and .vtf/.vmt files via VTFedit)

GIMP has a feature called colour to alpha where it converts any given RGB value to alpha, so it's possible. The script might be open source too so you could read it and see how they did.

Why would you want GldSrc in Source? Aren't they too low in quality?
