Error - cannot find bone v_weapon.knife_parent for bbox.

I am using Cannonfodde's studio compiler to compile a knife for CSS. I thought $bbox was only for HL. Since this compiler does not seem to work or if someone cant help me out, can I have a name of a good compiler for HL2??

I am using the default animations for the knife. Question: does the bone v_weapon.knife_parent need to be connected to something? I am talking about in milkshape. I also never got a map so I never unwrapped the file at. I have been making models but I never compiled them because none looked that decent but I finally came around and tried to compile some but I have the same prob.

try deleting anything with $hbox in it, the compiler should do it on it's own, and if not, weapon models, afaik (not sure about melee weapons in source) don't need hitboxes.

you've got a bad rotation, and possibly a bad origin, all of which is fixable via the .qc and tweaking. not sure about the rotation bit, but i'm pretty sure i've seen something that indicates you can rotate the entire model (yours is turned 90 degrees to the left, it appears). If you can't find the right command, what you might be able to do is rotate your ref .smd 90 degrees to the right (bones, triangles and vertices) and then re-compile. Save you original first, just in case. If not, then you'll have to rotate all the animations individually.

Keep in mind, this is all speculation based upon your pic. Just looks like that it's part of the arm shown, rotated.
