Which team did you play for?

We played at WCG and WSVG one time each, about five or six years ago. I seriously doubt you would have heard of every team that ever played at international events. I don't really care if you believe me or not, I'm not trying to prove anything to you :)

you don't need to be pro to participate to a WCG or ESWC qualifier tournament. These are national tournaments, not international! I played cs competitively for 4 years. Been to a few qualifiers...

Won a counter-strike cz cal-i season though!!!

Most notable teams I was on:

TYPICAL (1.6) (cal-m/p)
Powerline (cz) (cal-i)
Paradise (1.6) (cal-m)

yeah!

Can i suggest using www.imgur.com as the imagehost, its easier and faster to upload pics and it doesn't have this overflow of adds :)

Another competitive FPS person chiming in!

Most of the basics have already been covered, but a HUGE pet peve of mine is when map makers scatter crap all over the ground. NOTHING and I mean nothing will make a competitive player rage at your map faster than if they got shot because an immovable tin can or the curve of a sidewalk turned their jump out of the way of fire into them jumping in place and getting killed.

Getting stuck on a piece of debris is rage inducing. If you're going to put stuff on the ground unless it's as big as a crate or barrel or bigger, make it non-solid. This includes road cones, small cardboard boxes...
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.

Yea I was watching this one ranting video on CS:S and someone said about objects getting in the way. Im thinking of going for a cpl_mill style. Since the map is really clean looking and object free.
