I think this would be more appropriately posted in the hammer editor help forum?

Also look up silverfish hammer tutorials, I think he covers this kind of thing pretty well in one of his videos.

Use the OnCompletion output of the first scene to fire the Start input of the second scene.

Rather than stringing together a bunch of simple vcd's it's often better to make one vcd with all the events. That is their power, they can handle alot of action in each. If you npc is only going to a few places and saying a line at each then you can just have put a second moveto and speech event in your timeline.
