So we all agree to finish our current source projects and convert interlopers to a UDK forum, right?

Well, I dont know if blink would totally convert us. We could always just make another half of the forum UDK and Source. But never shall source vanish from our hearts :P

Source is like training wheels for game developers. I loved it, I still love it, but I loved it more when it was cutting edge.

One day you will all move on, be it to a new engine, or to what ever valve makes next.

Not really.

I agree, nothing will compare to the UDK tools and documentation for a long while.

Yeah I mean frostbite 2 has some cool stuff going for it, mostly realtime radisoity. But real time radiosity is doable on UDK already as Screen Space Global Illumination. It's not actual real time radiosity, but is more or less the next best thing. But yeah UDK has immense shader power behind it. You could pretty much make anything Frostbite 2 has already visually.

Meh, Engine performance wise I still feel like It is superior over UDK. UDK may be free and well documented but power wise I think Frostbite 2 takes the cake. I personally have never seen HUGE VAST environments etc in UDK. Then again I haven't seen very many environments in UDK. To me UDK seems stylized rather than "realistic" like Frostbite 2's shaders.

It's all based on the artist, and if you think Frostbite 2 is realistic it's not. :? Vast UDK environments? Arkham City, uh... That's all I can think of right now.
